Getting Ahead is a 14-week program, where participants meet twice a week for two and a half hours to examine their own experience living in instability as well as explore issues in the community that impact poverty, such as banking, housing, jobs, and transportation; providing critical information the community can use to take-action to end poverty.
You will learn:
What’s keeping you from getting ahead
Go from surviving to thriving
Get support in your journey
How to identify and build resources
How to create a plan for a better future
How to increase your social resources
Facilitators guide participants through an assessment of their own resources and how to build those resources as part of their move to self-sufficiency and daily stability. Getting Ahead puts concepts, tools, and relationships in the hands of people living in instability to make a difference in their own lives and in the life of their community.
