Derek Markle

Derek Markle graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  Shortly after graduation, Derek worked with individuals with developmental disabilities as direct support. He then joined Marion County Job and Family Services.

For 20 years, Derek helped thousands of local residents apply for government programs to address their needs and helped them land jobs. 

In 2021, Derek joined the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a Service and Support Administrator.  In that role, Derek works to ensure the health and safety of individuals and coordinate services. 

Derek’s extensive work helping thousands of people set and achieve goals despite challenges including generational poverty, criminal backgrounds and disabilities makes him a resource for Marion Matters and the people it serves.
